If an accident occurs while boating on Texas waterways, the operator must report the incident to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) within 30 days of the incident. A written report is required for accidents resulting in death, disappearance, or injury requiring medical treatment beyond first aid or property damage exceeding $2,000.
