ARLINGTON, TX – Arlington police said one person was killed and another injured in a crash that involved street racing on Tuesday.
According to WFAA, two vehicles collided in the area of West Green Oaks Boulevard and Lee Drive just after 5 p.m. Police said 45-year-old Priscilla Rodriguez was street racing in a Porsche Cayenne when she crashed into a Honda Accord at the intersection in a T-bone type of collision. The impact sent the Honda into a light pole.
A 30-year-old man who was driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Rodriguez was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Rodriguez was charged with racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury. Police said she was driving nearly 80 miles an hour in a 45 mile an hour zone at the time. Witnesses said she was racing with the driver of a BMW SUV who left the scene after the crash.
