FORT WORTH, TX – Police in Fort Worth said two vehicles were involved in a fatal head-on collision early Wednesday morning.

According to NBC DFW, police responded to the scene in the area of Blue Mound Road and Chaplin Drive after the incident was reported at about 2:30 a.m.

Officers located several vehicles at the scene, and determined that a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle had collided at the intersection.

One person was found trapped inside one of the vehicles, and was later pronounced dead. The name of the person who died was not immediately released.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
