ARLINGTON, TX – Police said a fiery crash in Arlington late Friday night left a teenage driver dead.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the accident took place on an exit ramp from Interstate 20 to State Highway 360 south.
Investigators determined that an 18-year-old woman was driving a Land Rover at about 11:30 p.m. when she went off the roadway. The vehicle crashed into a concrete support pillar, overturned and went up in flames.
The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle at the time, and no other vehicles were involved.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
