DALLAS, TX – Dallas police said two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident involving a drunk driver, WFAA reports.
Five cars crashed in the incident early Sunday morning in the 4200 block of the North Central Expressway near Fitzhugh Avenue. Investigators said the vehicles were all headed south on the expressway when they collided at about 2:20 a.m.
Two victims, a 31-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman riding in his car, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not yet been released.
Three of the other drivers involved in the accident were arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. One of those drivers, 31-year-old Marsalis Brown, also was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
The southbound lanes of the expressway were shut down for several hours while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
