DALLAS, TX – Police say they have now arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Far East Dallas last month, the Dallas Morning News reports.
This is an update to a previous story.
The incident occurred Nov. 26 on Ferguson Road near Highwood Drive in the Casa View neighborhood at approximately 2:30 p.m. Investigators said 73-year-old Linda Pearson was walking her dog in an area where two cars, a Chevrolet Impala and a Chevrolet Camaro, were street racing.
Pearson and her dog were struck and killed by the Impala, and both drivers fled the scene without stopping.
Police said they have now arrested 19-year-old Brayan Ontiveros Montoya and 18-year-old Andrew Martinez in connection with the incident. A witness told police Martinez was driving the Impala that struck Pearson, while Montoya was behind the wheel of the Camaro.
The two are charged with racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury and accident involving death. Montoya was released on bond while Martinez was being held Monday in the Dallas County jail.
