DALLAS, TX – Authorities have identified the other victim of the crash in Dallas that killed Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
This is an update to a previous story.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said the woman who died in the accident along with Gladney was 26-year-old Andrea Mercedes Palacios of Fort Worth.
The incident took place early Monday in the westbound service lanes of Woodall Rogers Freeway at about 2:30 a.m.
Investigators believe a driver was speeding when their vehicle clipped another vehicle from behind at Allen Street. The first driver lost control and the vehicle struck a pier beam of the roadway.
Detectives said two people in the speeding vehicle, Gladney and Palacios, were killed in the accident. Two people who were in the second vehicle were not injured.
Gladney, 25, was a college standout at TCU before being chosen by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. He later signed with the Cardinals.
