RICHARDSON, TX – Police said a series of crashes in Richardson last week left three people dead, according to NBC DFW.

The incidents took place Wednesday morning on the North Central Expressway, with the first occurring at about 5 a.m.

According to police, two motorcycle riders collided with each other while heading north on the expressway. Both motorcyclists were thrown from their bikes and landed on the roadway, and one was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

A tanker truck and a Toyota sedan trying to avoid the motorcycle collision ended up crashing into each other. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was not hurt.

Police investigating the initial incident were then notified about another crash that took place in the 2000 block of North Central Expressway just after 6 a.m.

A Honda Accord changing from the left lane into the HOV struck a Toyota pickup truck, and the impact caused both vehicles to hit a Honda Civic. The Civic driver died later at a nearby hospital, while the other two drivers were not seriously hurt.
