DALLAS, TX – A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 Monday afternoon snarled traffic and left one person hospitalized.

NBC DFW reports eight vehicles and an 18-wheeler were involved in the wreck on I-20 east near J.J. Lemmon Road at about 3:30 p.m.  No details were released on the circumstances that caused the accident.

The person injured was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. No one else was hurt.

Lanes were closed on I-20 while emergency crews responded to the scene to clear the wreckage and clean up oil that was spilled.  Traffic was reportedly backed up for miles on the interstate.
