According to NBC DFW, 33-year-old Jesus Espinoza is facing several charges, including intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.
The incident took place in the 2100 block of S Walton Walker Boulevard, where a woman had stopped on the shoulder with vehicle trouble and was being helped by another woman and a 30-year-old man.
As the three stood near the disabled car, police say Espinoza was driving a GMC Sierra pickup and crossed into the shoulder, hitting the man and one of the women. The woman who was struck was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
Police said Espinoza left the scene after the accident but was tracked down at his home and arrested after a witness followed him and gave his address to investigators.
