FORT WORTH, TX – Police and emergency crews were on the scene of a car accident in north Fort Worth Wednesday morning, according to WFAA.

The incident happened on northbound I-35W near Texas 170 at about 7:30 a.m. and shut down the northbound lanes for about an hour.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the driver of a Cadillac crashed into a barrel in a construction zone on the interstate, but no one was injured.

The closure of lanes caused traffic backups that appeared to stretch for several miles on I-35W north. Drivers were advised to avoid that area of the highway near Alliance Gateway Freeway.
