DALLAS, TX – A car accident in Dallas Friday claimed the life of a driver and disrupted utility service in the area, according to KDFW.

The crash took place in the area of Clarendon Drive and Westmoreland Road in West Oak Cliff at about 9 p.m.

According to police, a speeding driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling on Westmoreland Road. The car ended up going across the road and slamming into a utility pole.

The driver, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Utility crews were dispatched to the scene to replace the utility pole and restore power.
