LANCASTER, TX – A construction worker was hospitalized after a large piece of equipment falls on him in Lancaster on Wednesday afternoon.

According to CBS DFW, the incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. at a worksite within the 3300 block of North Dallas Avenue.

Investigators say the victim was crushed by a large piece of equipment while repairing a drainage pipe. He was extricated from an excavation trench and flown to Baylor Hospital with serious injuries.

It is unclear exactly what caused the equipment to fall on the man.
