GRAPEVINE, TX – A young man died after his motorcycle was involved in an accident in Grapevine late Wednesday night, police said.

According to CBS DFW, a passing driver noticed a motorcycle on the grass near westbound State Highway 114 and Texan Trail at about 10:45 p.m. He stopped to check on the motorcyclist, who was unresponsive, and called 911. The rider, a 23-year-old Grapevine resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Responding officers saw skid marks and a downed highway sign in the area where the accident occurred.  Investigators looking into the wreck believe speed was a contributing factor.
