DALLAS, TX – A driver has been arrested in connection with a crash in Pleasant Grove that killed a man in a wheelchair, WFAA reports.
The incident took place Saturday night in the vicinity of Buckner Boulevard and Cordell Drive at about 10 p.m. Police said Juan Segura-Mendez, 19, was driving a Dodge pickup truck at a high rate of speed on Buckner Boulevard.
The Dodge crashed into the rear of a Chevrolet Silverado towing an empty trailer, causing the trailer hit an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair who was crossing the street. The man was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.
Police arrested Segura-Mendez following the crash and charged him with intoxication manslaughter.
