ARLINGTON, TX – A man was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated after a crash in Arlington Tuesday night that left four people hospitalized.
CBS DFW reports the two-vehicle collision took place on Interstate 20 near the Highway 360 interchange at about 8:20 p.m.
According to police, 25-year-old Tyler Hampton was driving a Mazda MX5 erratically in the westbound lanes when he collided with a Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The Tundra went off the road and hit a guardrail before ending up on its side.
A 26-year-old man, 22-year-old woman and two girls ages 4 and 2 who were in the pickup were all taken to an area hospital. The adults and the 2-year-old were seriously injured, while the 4-year-old sustained minor injuries. Hampton was not seriously hurt.
Officers conducted roadside sobriety tests on Hampton and subsequently arrested him on charges of intoxication assault with serious bodily injury.
