DALLAS TX, – Police arrested one of the drivers involved in a fatal collision in northeast Dallas early Tuesday morning.

According to WFAA, a Chrysler 300 and a box truck were involved in the crash on Northwest Highway near Shiloh Road just after midnight.

Police said the Chrysler driver, a 26-year-old man, was going east on Northwest Highway at a high rate of speed and collided with a box truck making a left turn onto Shiloh Road.

A 27-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Chrysler was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.  She was not wearing a seat belt, according to police.  The Chrysler driver was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Neither driver was injured in the wreck.

Northwest Highway was closed to traffic in both directions for several hours for the crash investigation.
