DALLAS, TX – A driver was killed in an accident involving a sport utility vehicle in northwest Dallas, KDFW reports.

The crash took place early Saturday morning along Loop 12 in the area of Interstate 35. According to investigators, a driver lost control of an SUV at about 3:30 a.m. and struck the roadway’s median attenuator.

The SUV went up in flames and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was not released.

Investigators said the SUV may have been hit prior to the crash by another vehicle that left the scene.
