DALLAS, TX – Police say two people were killed in a collision between a pickup truck and SUV in Dallas on Friday night, KDFW reports.

According to investigators, the driver of a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup was headed south on Esperanza Road near Highway 75 at a high rate of speed at about 9 p.m. and crossed into oncoming traffic.  The pickup then crashed into an SUV head-on.

The 16-year-old driver and a 15-year-old front-seat passenger in the SUV were pronounced dead at an area hospital.  Three other juvenile passengers in the SUV were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver of the pickup ran away from the scene after the crash, leaving the pickup behind, and is now being sought by police.
