DALLAS, TX – A man was killed following a major multi-vehicle crash in southwest Dallas on Sunday night.

According to WFAA, the crash took place at about 10:36 p.m. when a Toyota Yaris slid through a stop sign at the intersection of Gibbs Williams Road and South Hampton road.

The Toyota slammed into the side of a Chevrolet Tahoe within the intersection. The Chevrolet then crashed off the side of the road and hit several trees before overturning. The vehicle came to rest after snapping a utility pole in half.

The driver of the Chevrolet, who has not yet been identified, was thrown from his vehicle and became pinned underneath. He was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota told police his brakes malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to skid through the intersection.
