DALLAS, TX – Police and firefighters were at the scene of a deadly car accident in Dallas early Thursday morning, WFAA reported.

The crash occurred on North Central Expressway near the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Forest Lane sometime before 2:21 a.m.

Authorities said a vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a tree in front of a restaurant, and went up in flames. The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Portions of North Central Expressway and Forest Lane were closed while police investigated the crash and firefighters extinguished the fire.

There was no immediate information on what caused the incident.
