ARLINGTON, TX – A major single-vehilce crash on I-30 in Arlington resulted a single fatality early this morning.
According to a report by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the crash occurred at about 3:20 a.m. within the 1900 block of I-30, near North Collins Street.
Investigators believe the victim, Marcus David McCarty, entered the closed HOV lane going the wrong direction. Moments later, he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to slam into a concrete barrier and catch fire.
McCarty suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Police say speed and intoxication likely played a role in the fatal collision.
