IRVING, TX – The Irving Police Department is seeking the public’s help in tracking down the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash last month.

Police tweeted details of the incident that occurred near the intersection of North Beltline Rd and Conflans Road on June 25. They are requesting any information about the whereabouts of the suspect, 29-year-old Daniel Cabrera of Grand Prairie.

The victim was 19-year-old Joshua Reyes, family members told KDFW.

According to police, Cabrera was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the back of the vehicle Reyes was a passenger in, causing it to hit a tree. Reyes suffered fatal injuries. Cabrera fled on foot after the accident, investigators said.

Police believe Cabrera may have been speeding away from a street racing event at the time. They said he will be charged with manslaughter when he is apprehended.
