GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – A driver was arrested in connection with a crash that killed a child in Grand Prairie on Saturday evening.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the incident took place on Regency Drive near State Highway 360, where a 6-year-old boy crossing the street towards a parking lot at about 6 p.m. was hit by a Chevy sport utility vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead later after being taken to an area hospital.
Police believe the driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Herschel Pearson, was driving drunk at the time and he is now facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
The incident remains under investigation.
