FORT WORTH, TX – Police said an accident in Fort Worth Tuesday morning claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.

The incident took place in the area of northeast 28th Street and Deen Road at about 12:20 a.m., according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Police said a man was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed while trying to make a left turn from 28th Street onto Deen Road. The motorcyclist laid the bike down and the motorcycle hit the back of a car that was turning at the intersection, investigators said. It was not clear whether the motorcyclist also struck the car.

The rider, who reportedly was not wearing a helmet at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
