MANSFIELD, TX – Police and firefighters responded to a deadly accident involving a pickup truck in Mansfield on Saturday night, reports KDFW .

Police said the pickup went off the road and crashed into a building in the 1700 block of U.S. 287 Frontage Road shortly before 7:20 p.m.

Rescuers pulled a man and a child from the truck and transported them to hospitals. The man died of his injuries, and was identified as 65-year-old Tommy Tabor. The child was expected to survive. Investigators believe the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the incident.

The crash ignited a fire underneath the pickup, which was extinguished by the Mansfield Fire Department.
