LEWISVILLE, TX – Police in Lewisville said a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning, reports NBC DFW.

Police officers responded to the scene in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35E at about 4:45 a.m. after it was reported that a man was walking in the left lane of the interstate.  Investigators determined that the pedestrian was walking near Main Street for an unknown reason when he was hit and killed. The victim’s name was not released.

Police said the driver involved stayed at the scene of the crash and there was no word on whether any charges would be filed.

The incident shut down the southbound lanes of I-35E for the police investigation.
