DALLAS, TX – Police said a motorcycle and a dump truck were involved in a fatal collision in Dallas early Thursday morning.

According to WFAA, the incident took place on Forest Lane near the service road for the LBJ Freeway at about 1 a.m.  Investigators said the driver of the motorcycle went through a red light at the intersection and crashed into the side of the truck, which had the green light at the time.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released. The driver of the dump truck was not injured and remained at the scene.

Police closed down the freeway service road for the crash investigation.
