HALTOM CITY, TX – A man has been indicted for murder in connection to a fatal motorcycle crash on November 5th, 2020.

According to NBC DFW, the collision took place shortly before 4 a.m. after an extensive police chase through Haltom City.

Police say officers chased a gray 2019 Kawasaki that was reported stolen for several miles along the Denton Highway. The chase ended when the driver, Kyle Sharp, crashed while driving through the Birdville Stadium parking lot.

Sharp struck a speed bump. throwing him and 31-year-old Socorro Mercado from the motorcycle.  Both individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals in serious condition.

Mercado succumbed to her injuries three days after the crash. Sharp has since been charged with murder. It is unclear if he is being held on bond at this time.
