PLANO, TX – Police in Plano said three vehicles were involved in a fatal collision on Sunday afternoon, reports the Dallas Morning News.

The driver of a Volkswagen Jetta was reported to have been speeding while heading south on Custer Road near Legacy Drive at about 3:40 p.m. As the driver of a Ford Fusion attempted a left turn at the intersection with the turn signal on, the Ford was struck by the Volkswagen on the passenger side.

The impact caused the Ford to strike a Nissan Rogue that had stopped at the intersection.  A passenger in the Ford was killed in the wreck.  The victim’s identity was not immediately released.

The drivers of the Ford and the Volkswagen were hospitalized, though the severity of their injuries was not disclosed.  The Nissan driver was not injured.
