EULESS, TX – An alleged drunk driver is facing charges stemming from a crash in Lake Worth Saturday that killed an off-duty Euless police detective, reports NBC DFW.

Police said 26-year-old Dylan Molina was driving a Jeep Wrangler shortly after 1:30 p.m. when he went through a red light in the area of Boat Club Road and Rocky Point Trail.  The Jeep collided with a Chevy Impala driven by Detective Alejandro Cervantes.  Cervantes, who had been with the Euless Police Department for about seven years, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in the Impala was listed in critical condition after being taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.  Two children who were in the car were seriously injured and hospitalized at Cook Children’s Medical Center.

Molina was arrested on several charges, including intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
