PLANO, TX – A driver is under arrest in connection with a fatal car wreck in Plano on Sunday morning, reports CBS DFW.
The accident took place in the area of Jupiter Road and E. Plano Parkway at about 10 a.m. Police said 34-year-old Angel David Velasco was driving a Chrysler Town and Country van north on Jupiter Road when he went through a red light. The Chrysler crashed into a Hyundai Electra headed north on E. Plano Parkway.
The driver of the Hyundai, 39-year-old Marcus Jarod Gerald of Mullins, South Carolina, was killed in the crash. Velasco, a Richardson resident, was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The Plano Police Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation into the incident.
