IRVING, TX – Police in Irving are investigating an accident in which an infant was struck and killed by a car on Sunday morning, according to KRLD News Radio.

The incident occurred at the intersection of North MacArthur Boulevard and Ranchview Drive. According to the Irving Police Department, a woman was driving when her 8-month-old baby fell out of a car seat onto the roadway and was hit by another vehicle.  The child was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead.

The vehicle that struck the infant, possibly a black sedan, kept going after the accident. Investigators added that the driver involved may not have realized what happened.
