ARLINGTON, TX – Police in Arlington have arrested a suspected drunk driver involved in a deadly car accident Sunday, reports WFAA.
The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Bryan Lizarzaburo Penafiel. Witnesses told police that Penafiel was speeding while driving east on East Arbrook Boulevard at about 9:50 a.m. when he went through a red light.
Penafiel’s vehicle collided with a Ford Focus headed north on South Collins Street, killing the 22-year-old Focus driver.
Penafiel was hospitalized with injuries that were not life- threatening. Investigators believed he was intoxicated at the time of the crash, and he was arrested on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
