GARLAND, TX – A suspected drunk driver is under arrest in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in Garland last Friday afternoon.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 30-year-old Jeremy Spencer of Frisco has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing bodily injury.

Investigators said Spencer was driving a Dodge pickup truck northbound on Castle Drive near Toler Road at about 5 p.m. when he crossed over the center median and crashed into a southbound sport utility vehicle.

A 13-year-old girl riding in the SUV died in the crash, while her mother was critically injured and a13-year-old friend of the girl’s was not seriously hurt.

Spencer was hospitalized and arrested a short time afterwards.  Police are continuing to investigate the wreck.
