BEDFORD, TX – A teenager died of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on a highway in Bedford last weekend, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
The incident took place Saturday night in the eastbound lanes of Texas 183 near Forest Ridge Drive, where the 15-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle at about 11:30 p.m.
He was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist HEB, where he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.
Police said the driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and no criminal charges are pending. The investigation into the accident is continuing.
The victim’s family said he was an avid BMX bike rider who had just finished his final year at a local junior high school.
