PLEASANT GROVE, TX – An accident in the Pleasant Grove section of Dallas on Wednesday night left a 2-year-old boy dead, KDFW reports.

The incident occurred outside an apartment complex on Delafield Lane at about 8 p.m.   Dallas police said the toddler was running toward an ice cream truck that was parked along the curb.

A 53-year-old woman driving a Chevy Tahoe SUV tried to go around the truck just as the boy ran into the street, and struck him.   The victim was pronounced dead after being transported to Children’s Medical Center.

Police said the driver stopped to help following the crash and was not expected to face charges.
