On July 30, two people were racing stolen vehicles, a Range Rover and a Chevrolet Tahoe, at speeds over 100 mph in the 300 block of Mockingbird Ln.
The Tahoe struck a guard rail and was sent airborne into a building. It then caught on fire.
The Range Rover slammed into two telephone poles. All three people inside it died at the scene.
Michael Mendoza was the alleged driver of the Tahoe. He and his only passenger were hospitalized with unknown injuries following the crash.
Mendoza now faces 3 charges of murder for his role in the deadly crash. If convicted, he may face life in prison.
