The crash involved a Range Rover and a Chevrolet Tahoe. At the time of the collision, the Range Rover was occupied by three people, while two people were inside the Tahoe.
According to police, the two vehicles were street racing one another at speeds in excess of 100 mph.
As the two vehicles approached the 300 block of Mockingbird Ln, the Tahoe was sent airborne into a building after striking a guardrail, and the Range Rover collided with two telephones. The Tahoe then caught on fire.
First responders arrived on the scene around 11:40 p.m and hospitalized the two people in the Range Rover.
The three occupants of the Tahoe were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police will release the names of the victims once they officially confirm their identities using fingerprints.
