ALLEN, TX – The victim of a fiery truck accident in Allen last week has been identified, according to a report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Family members said the man killed in the wreck was 71-year-old Gustavo Gomez of Dallas, a driver for Bancroft and Sons Transportation.

Police said Gomez was driving a tractor-trailer north on U.S. 75 shortly before 3 p.m. when he collided with a car.  The truck went over a barrier, fell off an overpass and crashed to the ground below where it caught fire.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.   Allen police and the Texas Department of Transportation are continuing to investigate the fatal wreck.
