ARLINGTON, TX – Arlington police have charged the woman believed to be responsible for a fatal DWI crash near I-30 on Sunday.
According to Fox 4 News, the crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Collins Street and the interstate service road.
Police say 50-year-old Bernida Collins ran the red light and slammed into the rear of a Honda HRV that was working as a rideshare vehicle.
Both passenger s in the Honda were rushed to a local hospital, where one of them, a 37-year-old man, died a short time later. The driver suffered only minor injuries.
Collins was taken to the hospital for evaluation and later charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
