DALLAS, TX – A woman was killed when her car was involved in a crash on the President George Bush Turnpike in Dallas Saturday morning, WFAA reports.

The victim was identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as 23-year-old Kyra Richardson. She was driving west on the turnpike near Midway Road when the accident occurred just after 2:30 a.m.

Investigators said Richardson was driving west when she passed the exit to Midway Road and stopped in the left lane. When she backed up and turned into the far right lane to exit the turnpike her vehicle was struck by another car, the DPS said.

Richardson’s vehicle struck a guardrail and rolled over, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the wreck.
