GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Grand Prairie late Friday night.
According to CBS DFW, the victim was a woman who was found by responding officers in the 2300 block of W. Main Street at about 11 p.m.
An investigation determined that she was crossing the street in a crosswalk when she was hit by a westbound vehicle that failed to stop for a red light. The woman, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the vehicle left the scene after the crash. It was described as a black vehicle, possibly a passenger car, with damage to the front driver’s side.
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the driver involved. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run was asked to contact Grand Prairie Crime Stoppers.
