NORTHLAKE, TX – The Town of Northlake said two of its police officers were injured in a crash involving an 18-wheeler Thursday morning.

The town released details of the incident in a Facebook post.   It happened on Interstate 35W near Texas Motor Speedway and Roanoke at about 9 a.m.

Officials said the officers were responding to a previous accident and were inside their separate police vehicles when they were struck by a semi-tractor trailer that jack-knifed. One officer in his vehicle ended up pinned under the trailer.

He was responsive and was taken to a local hospital, while another officer was also hospitalized with minor injuries. Both were listed in stable condition.

The southbound lanes of I-35W were shut down for the accident investigation.
