NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Police in North Richland Hills said a toddler died after being struck by a car Monday afternoon.

According to NBC DFW, the victim was a 2-year-old boy who was hit on Browning Drive at the Oxford at Iron Horse apartment complex shortly before 5 p.m.

The child died of his injuries the following day at an area hospital.

The driver involved remained at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and is not expected to face charges, police said. Investigators are calling the case a tragic accident and said speed is not believed to have been a contributing factor.
