DENTON, TX – A woman was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Denton over the weekend, police said.
According to CBS DFW, the accident took place early Saturday morning on N Loop 288 near Mingo Road. A 37-year-old woman was changing a tire with her friend on the shoulder of the roadway at about 3:35 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle, police said.
The driver kept going north after the crash without stopping to help. The woman was hospitalized with injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in tracking down the driver and the vehicle, which was described as a white SUV, possibly a 2007-2014 Chevrolet Tahoe or Yukon that is missing its passenger side mirror and housing.
Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact Denton police.
