ENCINO, TX – At least ten people were killed Wednesday afternoon when a van carrying 29 migrants and 1 driver crashed on U.S. 281, reports NBC DFW.

The driver of the van collided with a utility pole and a stop sign after attempting to turn onto U.S. 281 Business from U.S. 281 at a high rate of speed.

According to authorities, at least 10 of the 30 people in the van at the time of the collision died. The remaining 20 people were all hospitalized in either serious or critical condition.

The names of the victims will be released once their next of kin are notified.

Information on who owned the van or where it was registered is not available at this time.
