FORT WORTH, TX – Police said a motorist was killed in a crash after driving in the wrong direction on a Fort Worth highway, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The accident happened Sunday morning on Highway 287, where police said the wrong-way driver was involved in a collision with another vehicle near Vickery Boulevard at about 7 a.m.

The man, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the wreck, which shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 287 for several hours.
