ARLINGTON, TX – Police said a 32-year-old woman died following a pedestrian accident in Arlington late Saturday night, CBS DFW reports.
Officers responded to the scene in the 400 block of N. Collins Street at about 11 p.m. after the incident was reported. Investigators looking into the crash determined that the woman had been trying to run across N. Collins Street without having the right of way, and was hit by a northbound Chrysler 300.
The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of Chrysler stayed at the scene, cooperated with police, and will not face criminal charges.
Arlington Police issued a statement reminding pedestrians to cross roadways at stoplights and other designated crossings, especially in the dark, and obey all traffic signals.
